At our school we want our children to be happy, resilient and develop a thirst for learning. This is at the heart of our school. We believe that learning is a personal, rigorous and continous process where connections are made, and strengthened so that we gain more knowledge, improve our skills and deepen our understanding. By developing our personal goals, purposeful thinking, experience, enquiry and enjoyment we are prepared for our future careers and life’s challenges.
We are proud to offer a Malawi approved curriculum in all subject areas, making as many cross – curricular links as possible. Developing the whole child is a very important part of our main goal and as such, we develop personal goals explicitly through our whole school themes and implicitly through the curriculum. Children’s progress in developing personally is assessed each week in their respective subjects therefore equipping our children in becoming both excellent learners and responsible members of society.

We believe that children will be better equipped for life beyond school if they are more globally aware.

TESTIMONIES FROM STUDENTS
“I’m proud to be at this school because the rules here are so strict that nobody can be led a stray as they say, give a girl the right shoe and she will conquer the world.”
Kotatna Sports
“To begin with, St. John Girls’ Secondary School is a beautiful school and there are beautiful class rooms and library. We also eat good food for example on Sunday we eat rice and meat. We have upstairs hostels and beautiful different colours. The education is outstanding with outstanding performances by the students and we enjoy sports and entertainment for example we play netball and watch movies. The teachers are very friendly and helpful when students need help with academic work.”
Grace Mbewe
“I feel very happy to be here at St. John Girls’ Secondary School because we are being offered the best quality education. We have enough education facilities e.g. Library with enough books, Computer Lab, well equipped Science Lab and many more. We have also teachers who are very willing to make dreams of a girl child to come true in future.”
Triza Kasiya
“To say the truth, I feel glad, blessed, fantastic and joyful to be called a student of St. John Girls’ Secondary School. This is because it is a dream come true for me since in my primary school, I have always wished to go to a Catholic Secondary School. I love being here as we are being provided with everything we need to parsue our secondary education e.g. equipped library, computer lab, science lab and wonderful upstairs hostel. For all these, I feel so blessed to be called a student of St. John Girls’ Secondary School.”
Kate Mang'anda
“I’m a student from St. John Girls’ Secondary School. I do not only like this school because of the people here but rather the love and support we are given, more especially our director Fr. Joseph Kimu who is always ready to provide us with academic facilities for instance when we were in need of books, he provided us with the books. Another thing that I like about this school is the type of teachers we have. Our school has well qualified teachers who are willing to sacrifice their time for us to gain more knowledge.”
Talindira Chigumula
“I am very proud to be here at St. John Girls’ Secondary School because it has well qualified teachers and offers integral education for girls, it has an aim of empowering a girl by offering a high standard of education. Since it has a library and well equipped laboratories, it offers you many opportunities to fly like an eagle and not like a chicken. That is why I like being at this school.”
Anointed Kavulala
“Everything about this school is perfect. But the way teachers treat children is not good as the time for students to refresh their brains is not enough.”
Chrissy Mphonda
“There are many things which I like about this school. Some of them are that we have computer lab and library which other schools do not have. We also have good teachers who know how to teach and help students. We have also very good hostels and a good food diet.”
